What is ECU flashing?

An ECU Flash is a way of tuning a motorbike for optimal performance, by re-mapping the fuelling, Ignition, fly by wire throttle, engine braking and other tables within the ecu and removing certain restrictions. This type of modification is essential to modify the set up when you for example change exhaust system and air filter. A custom dyno set up will allow you to get the full advantage from your aftermarket parts.

Improved air and fuel ratio for your bike

When we are custom tuning your ECU we change your air and fuel ratio, optimising the set up for your individual bike and the parts you have fitted to your bike. When you remove a catalytic converter from your bike you can release a lot of extra power once set up correctly. This is a common modification but be warned your bike will need a lot more fuel in certain areas in the rev range to compensate for the extra flow of gasses from your exhaust. This will result in the std mapping becoming “Lean”. This means there is not enough fuel from the std mapping for the engine to run correctly and you can cause catastrophic damage to your engine as a result. We currently offer four types of services for the ECU Flashing:

  • ECU001 ECU Base Map - Postal Service - No Dyno Setup, £265 + delivery. (This is a base map built for a bike with similar exhaust and filter not a custom map built specifically for your bike)

  • ECU002 ECU Flash and custom dyno setup, £495. (A custom map built for your bike giving you the best set up possible for your machine)

  • ECU003 ECU Rider aid Package, £250. (This package is an extra that can be added to your flash only available for the 2015-2024 Yamaha R1)

  • ECU004 GYTR ECU Remap for Yamaha R1 and R6. £300
